Other competing software (such as iExplorer) works just as well, but they do not limit the number of iPhones at all (though, iExplorer does make you pay for a new version of the software every few years when the iOS undergoes a major upgrade).
In fact, when you re-name your phone, iMazing sees it as a different device! You could buy the unlimited annual subscription as a workaround but that's of course pretty expensive. That means I would need to purchase roughly 10 licenses, just to view the backups I've done on my various different iPhones over the years. So even though these phones are all mine (1 person), iMazing sees these as being separate and discrete devices. It's the same account, but a different physical device. So, what is a "discrete iPhone"? Well for instance, I have bought myself new iPhones over the years such as the 6, 7, 8, X, and 11. For instance if you pay for 3 devices, this means you can only backup data from 3 discrete iPhones. However I gave it three stars because the licensing scheme is strange. It does everything it claims to do - and performs very well.
